ABOUT US

The National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland (NYPBS) is a charitable project run by The National Piping Centre, created to inspire, develop, and connect young people through the power of pipe band music.

We bring together talented young musicians from across Scotland, providing opportunities to learn, perform, create, and grow within a supportive and ambitious musical community. Through our National Bands, outreach programmes, workshops, and creative projects, NYPBS supports young people aged 10–25 to develop not only as performers, but also as confident individuals and bandmates.

At the heart of NYPBS is a belief that pipe band music can honour tradition while continuing to evolve. We celebrate the rich heritage of the art form while encouraging creativity, collaboration, and new ideas; exploring what pipe band music can achieve both inside and beyond the competition circle.

From rehearsals and concerts to national events and innovative performances, our participants experience high-quality music-making, unforgettable opportunities, and lasting friendships. Guided by experienced tutors and industry professionals, young people are challenged to reach their potential in an environment that values excellence, commitment, inclusivity, and enjoyment.

NYPBS is proud to support the future of pipe band music in Scotland by investing in the next generation of performers, leaders, and creative voices.
